Tribute to Yitzhak Shamir

Israel has a long list of men who made history and occupied important positions and as Premier. Among them is Yitzhak Shamir, who died on June 30 this year.

Shamir had the privilege of being the premier for two legislature. We could say that Israel had the privilege of having as a central figure of a political man, as told Netanyahu, the current Prime Minister, "of such magnitude."

A broad smile on his face, enduring, like the marks of time. A happiness, perhaps, of accomplishment.

Shamir fought bravely, first by their Zionist ideals, second to survive. But he had no ties to the arrest or tunnel that does not dig into their own hands, no prisons to see their dreams of Eretz Israel born and become a country as we now have.

So we took our leave of this great man, whose parents and sisters died in the Holocaust, but he survived to tell and make history with his own hands. With his courage and strength, but above all for their faith that has infected so many that the numbers do not count.

Do not say goodbye say goodbye to us, because the seed planted that Yitzhak Shamir became a tree that bears its fruit over the years.
